STEMLabs is a nonprofit organization that promotes student engagement in the STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) fields. We believe it is critically important for kids to explore, create, play, and make, in order to learn about the world around them. We believe that students learn best when they are engaged in fun, challenge-based, hands-on learning experiences that connect the school curriculum to the real world in tangible and meaningful ways.
To do so we offer highly interactive after school programs in robotics, 3d printing, programming, science and math, to a variety of age groups, focusing on early childhood education.
We embrace a Growth Mindset and believe that every child can and should be literate in the domains of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
Given our belief that every child deserves a well-rounded, connected, and meaningful learning experience, we envision a world where every kid, regardless of income, feels welcome to pursue his/her passion for STEM.
Through our programs, we aim to provide this service to underserved youth free of charge. All kids, regardless of economic background, deserve an extraordinary educational experience.
Every young person who enters the lab will take inspiration and creativity back to their community and their peers. Programs like this are often kids' first introduction to science and engineering concepts not regularly taught in school.
We hope to help inspire the next generation of great inventors, artists, scientists, designers, engineers and makers. Thank you for supporting such an amazing, unique opportunity to build a collaborative ecosystem here in Tangier.
"In the 21st century, scientific and technological innovations have become increasingly important as we face the benefits and challenges of both globalization and a knowledge-based economy. To succeed in this new information-based and highly technological society, students need to develop their capabilities in STEM to levels much beyond what was considered acceptable in the past."
