Campaign successfully funded on: 29 Dec,2017
Jounieh and its region had been the heart of the cinema industry and activities during the past thirty years. During this period, most of the Lebanese movies were filmed in the region, and most of Lebanon’s well-known movie theaters opened there, and today some of them are still operating even though most of the economic activity had relocated back to Beirut after the civil war.
The "Jounieh International Film Festival - JIFF" is an international event conceived to promote cinema's culture among the population by proposing a selection of feature films, narratives, and documentaries, to be showcased during the festival days from January 17th till 22nd 2018.
JIFF came in this particular period of time to emphasis on the cultural side of Jounieh and its region, helping it to rise and reposition on the cultural scene of the country. For this first edition of JIFF, we are committed to organizing a festival trustworthy of the city and its people’s aspirations… We are definitely looking forward to be part of the international film festival circuit.
JIFF budget is very challenging and is not easy to be covered. It is imminent to rely on a trustworthy party that believes in “Jounieh International Film Festival” and to what this Festival would offer to our city.
What do we need?
To organize this festival on the international standards we need a big fund, but for now, we will start by raising 10,000$. We didn't receive any financial support from any governmental institution or other parties so far.
With this collected amount we will be able to cover the following:
In return, to thank you in the Festival’s special way some rewards are awaiting for you; take a look at the right of this page!
