We’re a group of enthusiastic university students who are passionate about programming and computer science and we have been participating in a lot of local and regional programming contests. So, we have taken the initiative to develop programming education and skills in our university and society as a whole through training camps and related events.
We know that many schools and educational systems in the country are having a hard time keeping up with the fast pace of technological advance. That being said, we’ve decided to take action and introduce the coding world to school students, ranging in age from sixth grade to first secondary. We are certain that if they start coding and developing their skills from this early age, they will have a great impact on the course of technology in the near future.
We have been working with more than 60 school students for a month now at Princess Sumaya University for Technology, holding weekly training sessions in the university’s IT labs, and of course, giving them some homework to do at home.
For now we are aiming at $1800. This money is needed in order to cover several expenses. Most importantly, we need a place for our training. Given that the university won’t be able to offer us the IT labs whenever we need them, we are going to have to find a new place which wouldn’t probably be free of charge. There’s also the issue of daily expenses. For example, if we provide all 60 students with water and a meal every training session (12 sessions all in all) that would almost cost us the entire fund target we’re aiming at!
On the other hand, this amount of money will make it possible for us to transform this training into something more creative and therefore more indulging, making it easier for the trainees to learn more willingly and overcome the difficulties that can be made easier with your support, but not overlooked.
This includes, but is not limited to, prizes for those who show great effort and work harder than their fellow trainees. Also included is a special event signaling the end of summer training camp, in which we wish to celebrate all efforts included and show appreciation towards the student’s participation in this program and their immense dedication. This event could be considered as a small graduation ceremony; something to seal their experience with yet another unforgettable moments.
On a larger scale, every penny will make it possible for us to launch a new programming camp in the winter, where we will have the chance to train even more students, paving the way for more brilliant coders to rise.
Your support is highly appreciated. We greatly value your trust and faith in us. It is deeply heart-warming to see the fruits of our efforts being reflected in a smile on someone’s face or a revived hope in someone’s heart. Help us reach the goal we’ve always wanted. Contribute with us. Share the vision; join us to be part of the next BIG THING. But this time, from Arab World.
