Feeling lost and don't know what all of this is about?

Short Summary

Watanili focuses on supporting displaced Syrians through art-therapy, education and community-driven projects. We believe in the therapeutical power of art to reduce anxiety and alleviate suffering.

Such cinematic events provide the kids with a safe space of solace, exposing them to educational animation and video cartoons in order to create a happy environment in one of Syria's darkest zones.

The content of the films is picked very carefully according to age range and level of education, encompassing stories of hope, optimism and the principles of good behavior.

The project is aimed also at creating a space for cultural expression, countering psychological trauma and installing some positivity: a sense of play/and normalcy amidst all the despair.

What We Need

We need $10.000 to be able to carry out cinematic events for 6 months inside Syria, depending on the conditions on the ground. This will cover logistic costs, equipment, transportation, supplies, food and small gifts for 1000 Syrian children.

More specifically,

$1000: 2 good quality video projectors

$2500: A small truck/car to carry the equipment/move around the areas

$3000: Salaries for two amazing civil-society leaders, helping out with the management of the events on the ground

Salary per person $250*6=1500*2=3000

$1500 Rent space for 6 months

$1000 Healthy meals for 1000 children

$1000 Happy small gifts for 1000 children

The Impact

Together, we can:

  • Bring back a little hope and life to the city of Aleppo
  • Introduce Syrian kids to cultural activities, something that was absent for the past four years
  • Enrich Syrian kids and begin the process of healing, using art animation and entertainment
  • Enhance artistic interest and cultural curiosity
  • Educate the future generation of Syrian children through the power of films
If you wish to learn more about the progress and impact of this project as well as the specific locations in which we will carry out the activities, please do write to us at syria@watanili.com so we can update you regularly.

Friends,

Zoomal has extended our deadline--->> 10 days left for our Cinema Project Campaign to close.

And Syria UK has featured us---> http://www.syriauk.org/2015/07/a-childrens-cinema-in-aleppo.html?m=1

Please forward this email to your friends. Every little bit helps us in reaching our goal.

The Cinema Project provides the kids with a safe space of solace, exposing them to educational animation and video cartoons in order to create a happy environment in one of Syria's darkest zones.

The project is aimed also at creating a space for cultural expression, countering psychological trauma and installing some positivity: a sense of play/and normalcy amidst all the despair.

*WE ONLY NEED 3,760$ as the BrItish Council and Hivos will match the funds,
enabling us to reach our target goal *

This will allow us to run cinematic events in the city of Aleppo and bring
some joy to the most vulnerable Syrian children: the ones who are still
living inside SYRIA.*Our mission is to expose them to positive settings, creating a learning
environment through educational screenings.firastlass01@gmail.com*

We need your support. Every little bit will help us expand and reach out to more areas of Syria, andmore kids.
