We are Maher Safar & Johnny Girges; two individuals coming from different backgrounds, who joined together in a vision we call "Beirut Juggles: Why be the spectator when you can be the performer?!"
Facilitated by the tremendous support of Cirquenciel.aec through its coordinator Toni Moussa, our vision had light!
As a life loving, passionate and adventurous person, Maher is very curious about the things he runs into! Maher came to be a talented circus artist with many creative ideas to include in his performances.
Maher is mainly a producer, he finished business school at AUB and got a Masters degree in Audio-Visual Production from ALBA. But his passion led him to new places; he started practicing Capoeira and Circus arts as a hobby, and before he realized, Circus was his mission. Through circus arts, Maher now contributes to humanitarian interventions and causes. Being the well-directed person he is, Maher found his balance between the mad artist and the focused disciplined individual.
Maher is not only a juggler & a producer, he is also a DJ who practices celtic musical instruments and music production. But all these activities could not distract him from pursuing his dream of founding a National Circus Institute in Lebanon!
Maher is the producer of Beirut Juggles.
Johnny was initiated to Circus arts in early 2000, as he was trained by the artists of Cirque du Soleil. This exclusive experience positioned him around the Middle East as a pioneer in concept, production, and performance; his activities include artistic exhibitions, corporate and Nightlife entertainment.
While developing his skills in circus arts, Johnny got a bachelor's degree in physical education and specialized as a Table Tennis player/trainer. He is currently pursuing a Masters degree in NGO management. As well, Johnny is a trainer on Emergency Education (INEE), Psycho-social support, and Humanitarian Project Development & Management.
All these experiences allowed Johnny to bring circus arts into a more Curricular aspect. In 2009 he introduced circus arts into schools, universities, capacity building programs & clubs around Lebanon. Johnny still chases his dream of establishing a National Circus Institute in Lebanon!Johnny acts as the project manager for Beirut Juggles.
