Rami Farah is a Syrian director and performer. He pursued studies in Performance Arts at the Higher Institute of Drama and Arts in Damascus, and in documentary film making at the Arab Film Festival in Jordan. In 2001, he directed Zamakan (Space Time), a dialogue between a chair and a fan. In 2006, he directed 'Silence', a documentary on the Syrian-Israeli conflict of 1967, the film won the Golden Falcon award at the Rotterdam Arab Film Festival. In 2008, Rami received the Transmedia award at the Manifesto Festival of Berlin for his work 'Not a matter of If but When' and 'Epic', a series of monologues on peace, animosity, hatred, vengeance and transcendence. His training as a dancer adds a unique style to the rythme and movement in his filmmaking. Rami fled Syria to Paris in November 2011. He's been working with a great team of film makers, artists, musicians, researchers, activists and archivists on On Screen Off Record, a documentary film that tells the story of the Syria revolution as depicted by five citizen activists from the city of Daraa.
